Nothing beats the crispness and contemporary look of a colour glass splashback – until the colour no longer appeals and replacing it is expensive. LiteTile has solved this problem with the introduction of a glass splashback illuminated by colour-changing LEDs and its ultra slim units are available from only 12mm thick.
“These versatile units can be used as a light source for worktops as well as a lighting feature behind cookers and hobs,” says Ian Lancaster, co-owner of LiteTile. “We feel people want both practicality and innovation in their kitchens and we believe that LiteTile provides this.
“LiteTile has been designed using the best in LED technology and edge-lighting materials available and these have a minimum life expectancy of 30,000 hours. The LiteTile uses a special light-enhancing acrylic called Prismex which, in conjunction with the high output LEDs, spreads the light evenly across the whole of the splashback”.
LiteTile is available in three options:
Option 1: Single colour: white, red, blue, green or amber
Option 2: White and colour-changing LEDs
Option 3: Colour-changing only
Ian explained that the colour-changing version of LiteTile is controlled by an easy-to-use remote control unit, which contains eight pre-set programmes. It can also be set to programmes and colours of choice or, for more total control, LiteTile can be supplied with a fully programmable wall panel. However, if someone just wants a white unit this is an energy-efficient and sleek way of providing task lighting in the kitchen.
The splashback face is covered with either Polar frost Perspex acrylic or low ion frosted glass so that the green tint that can appear from ordinary glass panels when illuminated does not feature on these splashbacks.
