Rangecookers.co.uk reveals most purchases of range cookers made online

Rangecookers.co.uk, the UK’s leading online retailer of well-known and own brand range cookers, is reporting that online sales of range cookers via its website now outstrip orders placed over the phone, following an analysis of its website data for 2010.
Analysis of more than 2,000 purchases has shown that over 55% of range cooker orders are now taken online. This represents a shift from just three years ago when 39% of range cooker orders were taken online.
52% of online orders are taken during the office hours of 9am to 5pm, with peaks coinciding with morning breaks and lunch hours.

13% of online orders are taken after 10pm and before 9am and the quietest time is between 1am and 2am; then orders grow through the small hours.

The most popular hour to order a range cooker online is between 7pm and 8pm, with 9% of shoppers choosing that time.

Sunday and Monday are the most popular days of the week for online range cooker buyers with Friday being the day that people avoid.

Online sales have been recorded for every day of the year, including one sale for a £430 cooker hood on Christmas day!

Rangecookers.co.uk director Christopher Parker comments: “When consumers have all the information they need, they are happy to purchase some big ticket items online. As the data shows, there are some popular times with most completing the transaction during office hours. We expect the figure of 55% for online purchases versus 45% for offline purchases to grow even further in the future.”

Aga Rayburn Launches Home Energy Management Centre

Aga Rayburn has opened the doors to its first Home Energy Management Centre in Kidderminster. Showcasing its range of renewable energy products, woodburning stoves and ultra-efficient Rayburn A-rated central heating range cookers, the Aga Rayburn Home Energy Management Centre is thought to be the first of its kind in the UK.

The Home Energy Management Centre acts as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for installers, self-builders, architects and homeowners to find out more about renewable energy and energy management in the home.

The Centre also demonstrates how different types of heating and renewable energy products can be linked together with its newly launched Eco-Connect system – giving complete control to the user without having to adjust a multitude of settings.

The Centre has an experienced and expert team to demonstrate the range of innovative products and components which enable homeowners to make better use of renewable energy and help them to use the minimum amount of fossil fuel when running their homes.

Customers are able to walk around the full size display and see how the various components can be connected together as well as being able to ask technical or specification questions.

“Renewables are going to become increasingly important in the next few years,” predicts David Carpenter, Technical Director at Aga. “As homeowners seek ways to benefit from fuel independence and any potential grants from the Government’s Feed-In Tariffs, installers and housebuilders are going to have to develop both their skills and product knowledge, and our Home Energy Management Centre is a great place to see how easy it is to integrate renewable energy into a home – whether a new build or an existing home.” [Read more...]
